Introduction
Hello again. In this part of the blog we aim at
including pieces of information related to other subjects apart from the
English one. For instance we may include information from extracurricular
activities related to cultural relevant dates such as Christmas or Easter, the
graduation party at the end of the academic year, the celebration of
International Book Day, the celebration of International Women Day and so on.
We will also be glad to count on European educators´ contributions relating to
the use of ITC and other kinds of methodological innovations in adult education
or cultural issues related to the celebration of such remarkable events
mentioned above in their countries. Every humble contribution is welcome!

ResponderEliminarDear participants,
ResponderEliminarmy name is Renate Eras. I'm from Berlin, Germany. Christmas celebrations in our country started 01. December this year. This first sunday in December named in German: 1. Advent. So each sunday in December before Christmas Eve (24th December) is 2., 3. and 4. Advent. We prepare a special wreath with 4 candles and burning one more each sunday. It's a very familiary celebration usually with parents, childs, grandchilds.
Do you have the same tradition in your region?
Good afternoon Renate. Thanks for accepting my invitation to our blog in English.
EliminarIn Spain things are different. We start celebrating Christmas on 24th December, which is Christmas Eve. Of course, we also celebrate Christmas day with a big supper at night.
We also celebrate New Year´s Eve on 31st December with a big supper including 12 grapes (to be lucky for next year).
We usually place a Nativity scene at home and on 6th January Spanish
children open their presents.
I hope this information will be published on the blog (technology is not my cup of tea. I am starting to learn).
